The Best of Wine Tourism award is part of the Great Wine Capitals (GWC) international network, of which Lausanne has been a member since 2018. This network brings together world-renowned wine regions such as Bordeaux, Napa Valley, Mendoza and Porto. Unique in its kind, it connects both the ‘old’ and “new” worlds of wine.
Each year, the ‘Best Of Wine Tourism’ award honours exceptional projects in seven categories: architecture and landscape, art and culture, discovery and innovation, environment, gastronomy and hospitality, service and organisation, and craftsmanship. The awards are given to companies that stand out for their creativity, hospitality and sustainable ideas.
National winners automatically qualify for the Global Best Of Wine Tourism competition, with the awards ceremony taking place in the autumn during the GWC's general assembly.
