Immerse yourself in traditions and customs

If you want to enjoy wine and culinary delights on holiday or in your free time, wine tourism is the perfect combination of tourist attractions and wine. From visits to traditional wine cellars and sporting activities to wine tastings at renowned wineries, wine tourism allows you to experience the diversity of wine culture.

Wine tourism allows you to explore a region in a very special way. It is not only an exchange between wineries and wine lovers, but it also allows you to immerse yourself in the history, traditions and customs of a wine region. This is particularly successful during one of the many festivals that are celebrated around harvest time, for example.

Switzerland offers numerous places for wine tourism, from idyllic vineyards to cosy accommodation and first-class restaurants. Here, visitors enjoy not only the scenery, but also food specialities that marry perfectly with the regional wines.

To learn more about wine production, the "At the heart of the harvest" event at the end of September offers a unique experience where anyone can spend half a day helping in the vineyard during this important event on the winemaker’s calendar and contribute to the upcoming grape harvest.

On-site visit: Open wine cellars

The open wine cellar days, which take place in all of Switzerland's wine regions in spring, offer a good opportunity to talk to wineries about their work, while tasting the wines of the new vintage.
