Paris, mon amour: A new record for Switzerland at Wine Paris 2026

Swiss wine has firmly established its international appeal. At Wine Paris 2026, held from 9 to 11th February, 26 Swiss representatives travelled to the French capital, setting a new record for participation. This landmark presence highlights the growing interest among industry professionals in the quality and diversity of Swiss wines.

The Wine Paris trade fair attracted around 60,000 visitors and more than 6,000 exhibitors from across the globe. Swiss Wine Promotion (SWP), the national body responsible for promoting Swiss wines, has been attending the fair since 2023 and this year brought with it an especially strong delegation of 25 wine estates and the Association for the Promotion of Chasselas. By comparison, in 2023, SWP took part with seven estates, 12 in 2024 and 21 in 2025 — a steady rise that reflects the growing momentum within the sector.

The rise to 26 winegrowers reflects genuine international enthusiasm for Swiss wines, which have won over consumers with their quality and authentic innovation — particularly in the field of alcohol-free wines”, says Océane Gex, Deputy Director of SWP. This trend points to growing demand beyond Switzerland’s borders. France is now the third-largest export market for Swiss wines, a strategic position that shapes Swiss Wine Promotion’s activities: strengthening local partnerships, raising awareness of Swiss wines, and showcasing the richness and diversity of their terroirs.

The SWP stand — a 300 m² space inspired by a traditional Swiss chalet — showcased more than 230 wines from the country’s six wine-growing regions. The return of the free-tasting format took visitors on a journey through the emblematic grape varieties of each region, creating a space where visitors could explore and enjoy exceptional wines at their own pace.

Alongside the fair, SWP hosted an exclusive evening at the Swiss Embassy, which brought together around 20 journalists, influencers and figures from the wine world to taste a selection of eight vintages. On 10th February, José Vouillamoz led a Masterclass where participants could travel through Switzerland’s wine regions with a tasting of six wines. As an internationally recognised expert on the origin and parentage of grape varieties, identified through DNA profiling, Vouillamoz eloquently showcased the richness and diversity of Swiss terroirs.
